painting for public art venue

Dewey Square across from Boston’s South Station has a new mural, thanks in part to Arch Painting. The old mural from 2016 was first washed and scraped, then fully primed by Arch with ProBlock, leaving a blank slate for the new artist. This year’s mural is a landscape titled “Carving Out Fresh Options” designed by Shara Hughes and executed by Overall Murals.

This marks the third time Arch has prepped Dewey Square, part of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, for the installation of a new highly visible work of public art, and the sixth time a mural has been done. Previous installations have been recognized by the Public Art Network as some of the best public art in the country.
